It is CHACO's mission to efficiently provide personal financial services of a superior quality to the members/owners of this credit union - always considering their financial well being.
CHACO History
CHACO Credit Union was born in 1938, the product of a simple loan between workers at the Champion paper mill in Hamilton, Ohio. The paper mill workers gathered to decide how fellow employees could obtain low interest loans in case of an emergency. Like a wildfire, a good idea spreads quickly.
Today, CHACO doesn't look like the credit union it was 65 years ago. It has grown and adapted to the ever-changing business world. Services have been added or improved and technological advances have been made to service the financial needs of all CHACO members, near and far.

What is a credit union?
Credit unions are not-for-profit cooperative financial institutions that are owned by their members, and run by volunteer board members.
Credit unions offer better rates on loans and savings than most commercial banks, due to credit unions' unique operation. While banks must make profits for their shareholders, credit unions exist only to serve members like you!
Credit unions exist solely for the purpose of meeting the financial needs of their member-owners. To that end, credit unions not only provide outstanding personal service, but members often earn higher returns on their savings while paying lower rates for loans. Each year, credit unions consistently outshine banks and S&Ls in the area of consumer/member satisfaction. Their non-profit status enable credit unions to operate at a lower cost than many for-profit institutions and helps them to offer competitive loan and savings rates.
